BIO
I am Tomas Cali, a director and editor based in Paris. I dedicate myself to directing and editing documentaries, fiction, and animation, engaging in diverse projects to explore various narrative and aesthetic forms.
My first short film, "Tailor" (2017), produced in Brazil by Suma Filmes, was selected in over a hundred festivals, including the Tampere Film Festival, Uppsala Film Festival, Anima Mundi, Curta Cinema, the Gramado Festival (where it received the Best Director award), Queer Lisboa (Audience Award), and Dok Leipzig. My second short film, "L'esquisse," produced by Don Quichotte Films, was also featured in festivals such as IDFA, Hot Docs, Leeds, and Interfilm Berlin.
In recent years, I have had the pleasure of editing various feature and short films presented at festivals like Clermont-Ferrand, Premiers Plans d'Angers, San Sebastian, Côté Court, Rhode Island, and Glasgow. I have also edited films and series broadcast on channels such as ARTE, France 2, and M6.
